Oceana Garden - Beautification

Oceana is a 55+ community in Oceanside.  Residents are excited and passionate about gardening but could use help with some of the heavier and more labor intense tasks.

Project Details:  Groups may be asked to pull weeds, spread mulch and help beautify the Oceana Community Garden.  Some volunteers may be pushing wheelbarrows full of mulch, so some heavy lifting required.

Day: Saturday (or Sundays upon request -please email our team leader to schedule)

Time:  8:00am-12:00pm

Location:  3751 Vista Bellla, Oceanside 92057

Bring: gloves, shovels, sunscreen, water

Recommended attire: pants, tennis shoes and hats

Tools or materials be provided? They have some rakes, shovels and wheelbarrows, but if you have rakes and shovels to bring, that would be great.

Child Friendly? Yes, but must have parent supervision.

Important Note: The garden is located at the very end of Vista Bella.  Although it is not out rightly dangerous, it is located on a hillside where normal critters such as snakes and coyotes may live.  There may also be stinging nettle plants so long pants are advised.  Parents must watch their children at all times.
