Thanksgiving Dinner - for Youth Transitioning Out of Foster Care – North County Lifeline

This is the perfect way to get in the spirit of giving during the Holiday Season. “LifeSpring” clients are former foster youth transitioning out of the foster care system. They are currently living in the Lifeline apartments receiving case management, therapy, and other services to help them transition into independent living.

Project:  Prepare items for a Thanksgiving Feast for these youth that have no family to spend the holiday with.  Staff will cook and host the meal for the clients  Please bring the following items.

Day: Drop off either Friday, Nov 16th or Monday Nov 19th.    

Suggested Meal:

  • Raw (thawed) Turkey – enough for 20 young adults
  • Stuffing and/or Mashed Potatoes
  • Gravy
  • Canned Corn
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • Cranberries
  • Green Beans
  • Buttery Biscuits, Rolls Garlic Bread or Cornbread
  • Pumpkin Pie or Pecan Pie (or both!)
  • Whip Cream

Drinks: Bring bottled water and a few bottles of apple cider as a nice treat.

Number of People to Feed:  20 people

Supplies Needed:  Just the food for the meal.  North County Lifeline will provide the paper, silverware, napkins and glassware.

Cost: Cost of the meal and drinks.
