About: North Coast has partnered Jacob’s House where families experiencing a medical crisis, have a place to call home near the hospital. The last thing a family should have to worry about is where they are going to sleep and eat. Unfortunately, the chaos, stress, and financial hardship that is caused by medical crises give families few options to meet their most basic needs.
Project: Create a Welcome Bag or Toiletry Bag containing the suggested items below. We want to love these people during their very difficult time and provide a little gift that will uplift their spirits.
How Many: Make 1-10, or any amount that fits within your budget. Place items into a gift bag and feel free to get creative and include a special homemade card. Deliver them as soon as possible, and they will be distributed to the families staying at Jacob’s House.
Ideas:
- Welcome Bag: reusable water bottle, warm fuzzy socks, crossword or word search puzzle, bible verse or encouraging note, lip balm, pens or pencils & journal (kits needed for both men & women – high need).
- Toiletry Bag: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, conditioner, chap stick, nail files, hair brush, hair ties, body wash, body spray, hand lotion, cloth face mask, slippers or socks (kits needed for both men & women – high need)
- Treat Bag: granola bars oatmeal packets, potato chips, crackers, mixed nuts, popcorn, chocolates, M&M’s, granola bars, store bought cookies, mints, Cracker Jacks etc. Only non-perishable items please!
