About: The Discovery Center hosts a ¾ mile walking trail and a large native-species garden exhibit. Get a behind the scenes look at the Agua Hedionda Lagoon by weeding out the invasive Algerian Sea Lavender in an area not accessible to the public!
Bring/Wear: Volunteers are required to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and sun protection. Bring a re-usable water bottle (no plastic disposable bottles please). One of the staff members will be present at the start of the event to give directions.
Provided: All gloves and tools are provided by The Discovery Center. Long pants suggested and comfortable shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. If you have your own pair of tall rain boots please bring them with you. There will have some available for those who do not have any of their own. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and water.
Volunteers: Children 12yr+ only please. Volunteers 12-16 yrs must be accompanied by an adult chaperone and sign a waiver. All children 16+ will need a parental permission slips but may be left on their own.
