Bring Fixings for a Pizza & Movie Night for At-Risk Teens - RESPECT Project

About:  The RESPECT Project is for at-risk teens. Students are able to hang out at a Sheriff’s youth center in San Marcos with Deputies who teach decision-making skills and provide encouragement and resources to students and their families. The Deputies often host games and sports, pizza & movie nights, ice cream socials, game nights, and more.

Pizza & Movie Night: This project involves providing all the items to make a fun-filled night. We ask that you bring pizza, popcorn and treats for a movie night run by the Deputies. Groups are encouraged to stay and serve the meal, but it is not obligatory. See the list of suggested items below and register to let us know you are committed to this project.

How Many Students: Plan to bring enough for about 20 teens. This number may vary depending on interest, but the Deputies can provide updated numbers once they have them.

Location & Time for Delivery:
RESPECT Project facility at the County Complex
151 E Carmel St, San Marcos

Time:  Bring food no later than 6:00pm to be served.  Project should last 30-60 minutes.

Pizza: Order enough pizza for around 20 teens. Please remember that teens are generally big eaters and can consume 2-3 slices of pizza each. If you’d like to go above and beyond, you may also bring a cut-up fruit platter and/or a tray of cookies.

Drinks: Sodas, Gatorade & water bottles are all greatly appreciated.

Paper Products: Paper plates, napkins, and plasticware are appreciated but not required.

Movie Night Treats: Please bring several bags of pre-popped popcorn or microwave popcorn. A variety of these treats are also greatly appreciated: pretzels, crackers, red vines, Mike n Ikes, Skittles, M&Ms, and Sour Patch Kids

Stay to Serve the Meal: Your group is welcome to stay and assist with a brief meal service. The engagement with the teens shows positive interactions with adults and can be encouraging for them.  If you are not able to stay and serve the meal, that is totally fine, just let us know.

Group Size:  RESPECT Project can host individuals, or life groups with up to 12 people.
