Current Meal Project Procedure:
Help is greatly needed to provide meals throughout the week for the single women and their children living in this shelter. To-go meals can be purchased from a restaurant or grocery store deli.
- Order take-out and deliver it by 4:45pm. Unfortunately, groups will not be able to serve the meal at this time and will only be able to drop it off in the kitchen. By registering for this project, you are signing up for this date.
- Or, you may make a donation to the agency. The money will go towards preparing meals at the shelter. If you’re able to make a one time donation, click here!
How much to bring? Bring enough for ~20 people. A more accurate number can be given the week of your dinner service. We encourage good nutrition, so when possible, please bring vegetables and proteins.
Drinks: Please bring 1 gallon of milk and 1 case of water bottles.
Easy meal suggestions: Click Here!
Can we make the meal at home? Unfortunately, no. Food regulations dictated by the California Health and Safety Code have changed the way food is to be served. The meal must be purchased from a restaurant and delivered. Volunteers will not be able to serve the meal at this time.
What else should I bring? Paper products are always greatly appreciated: paper plates, bowls, napkins, cups, forks, knives, spoons and serving utensils. Dessert is optional, however a fresh fruit salad is very popular.
When is dinner served? Arrive by 4:45pm to drop off the food.
Above and Beyond: Also launched is a new initiative called Dollar Donor Club. This allows individuals to give a small amount monthly and receive exclusive content from the agency. Sign up for their Dollar Donor Club here!
