The Discovery Center hosts a ¾ mile walking trail and a large native-species garden exhibit.  Both require consistent maintenance. Volunteer activities may include picking weeds, watering succulents and trees, litter removal along Cannon Road, window cleaning, breaking recycling, sweeping and cleaning exhibits.   These are all really important to ensure the upkeep of the Discovery Center! Your volunteer efforts will support a safe outdoor learning environment for field trips and help protect our native plant species.

Day/Time: 2nd Saturday/Month, 10am-12pm

Bring/Wear: Volunteers are required to wear long pants, closed-toed shoes and sun protection.  Bring a re-usable water bottle (no plastic disposable bottles please).  One of the staff members will be present at the start of the event to give directions and provide tools.

Volunteers:  Children 12yr+ only please.  Volunteers 12-16 yrs must be accompanied by an adult chaperone and sign a waiver.  All children 16+ will need a parental permission slips but may be left on their own.

Waivers:  All volunteers will need to fill out a waiver beforehand. Please fill it out online here!  If you’re under 18yrs, it must be filled out by a parent or guardian.

Tools:  All tools will be provided by The Discovery Center.
