About: The Vista Conservancy is a nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation interested in the protection of historical, agricultural and environmentally sensitive open space within the Vista area. They maintain a public walking trail that follows the Buena Vista Creek from Brengle Terrace Park down to Wildwood Park and the Rancho Buena Vista Adobe. The organization relies exclusively on the support of the citizens and businesses of Vista.
Project Details: This project includes general trail clean-up, clearing downed trees, debris, trail clean up. Build, repair and paint wooden benches. Repair/paint small foot bridge.
Bring: Work gloves/rubber gloves, hats, mask, water, snacks, sunblock
Wear: Masks and appropriate clothing for the project. Weed wackers are needed! Long pants and closed-toed shoes are encouraged. If you have Serve Your City shirt, please wear it! They can be purchased at all North Coast campuses during weekend services.
Meet: Meet at 981 Vale Terrace Dr., Vista, 92084. This address is down the street from Brengle Terrace Park. This address is the last building before the three empty lots across from the Community Clinic.
Parking option #2: If the first lot is full, adjacent to 981 Vale Terrace is an empty dirt lot which can be used. It is owned by the Community Clinic across the street and they have allowed volunteers to park there.
Child friendly? Yes for children 12 years and older. Children need to be supervised by an adult at all times. Please include number of children coming in registration.
No prior experience needed to serve, but we’re also looking for skilled professionals. Do you have experience in a skilled trade (i.e. tree service, arborist, etc.)? Let us know!
Waiver: Please print and sign the waiver and bring a completed copy with you on the project day.
