Are you a crafter or sewer and have found that you have a lot of time right now? You can help during the Covid-19 crisis by sewing surgical face masks for doctors and nurses. We are completely aware that there is controversy over when and how the general public should use masks. However, we’ve had requests from North Coast nurses and doctors specifically asking for them. They will be used to cover their existing masks, which will allow their paper masks to be used longer. They will be delivered to the appropriate personnel by the Community Service Team.
Supplies: Research shows 100% cotton works best, but any cotton materials will be acceptable. Bias tape or elastic also needed. Use fabric you have sitting at home, or check out JoAnn Fabrics for a discount at this time.
Patterns/Tutorials: Found online, check out link below.
Quantity: Make as many as you can. Make 1-100+
Style/Colors: Please keep in mind that both men and women will be using these masks, so a variety of fabric would be great.
