Sinking Roots in San Marcos - Tree Planting Workshop - Feb 29th

Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to plant 136 trees in the City of San Marcos.  Volunteers will not only learn the proper techniques of planting trees, but will learn to have a greater connection with nature, learn about our urban forests and about the lasting impact that trees can have on our carbon emissions.

Project Details:  North Coast Church has partnered with the City of San Marcos and a local arborist to offer a tree workshop. The workshop will teach volunteers about the species of trees, proper planting techniques and care of the trees. After the workshop has been completed, we ask those attending to lead community volunteers on the tree planting day (March 21st).  Trees have been selected by the arborist and will be planted in Bradley Park and Sunset Park.  However, first we need “you” to invest a few hours in this tree workshop.

Day/Time:  Saturday February 29th, 9am-12pm

Location:  San Marcos Activity Center, 111 Richmar Ave.  San Marcos, CA 92069.  There is plenty of parking at the center.

Commitment:  We ask that you commit to this workshop and the tree planting event on March 21st.

Number of People:  Great for groups or individuals, but we are looking for at least 30 team leaders.

Bring: Everything will be provided at the workshop.

Wear: Full-length pants and closed-toed shoes recommended.

Provided:  Handouts at the workshop will be provided, however, volunteers are welcome to bring a notebook to take additional notes.  Coffee and snacks will be provided.
