Tutor Kids After School - Maryland Elementary

About:  Maryland Elementary is a public school in Vista school that provides education for kids from kindergarten to 5th grade.  Volunteers are needed to tutor children after school and encourage them to become proficient in reading, writing and math and other subjects.

Location:  Maryland Elementary School, Vista

Dates/Times:
3:30-4:30pm, Monday – Thursday

Commitment:
Volunteers are asked to commit to one hour per week for at least four weeks.  Ideally, they’d like to pair up tutors and students so that you may see the same student every week.

Volunteer Hours:  This is a great opportunity for high school students who may need community service hours. The children love working with older students as they can make a positive impact.

Training/Tools:  No special experience is necessary.  Volunteers will be trained on how to tutor the children.

Vista Unified volunteer protocol requires the following:
-Completing the volunteer application
-Signing their code of conduct form
-Allowing them to run your drivers license for a Megan’s law background check (18 years +)
-Current negative TB test result (usually these are good for 3 years, 18 years +)
