“Farmers” of all ages, skills, abilities, and backgrounds are welcome! Join others on Saturdays at the Community Roots Farm and get your farm on! They are a community-run farm and only grow with volunteers like you (pun intended)! Get your hands in the soil, enjoy the fresh air, grow nutritious food for our community, and meet some awesome people.
Activities will depend on what is happening at the farm seasonally and may include general gardening, prepping beds, harvesting produce, weeding, trimming shrubs, weed eating, planting seeds, mulching, sorting seeds, watering plants and installing irrigation. There are often building projects such as building garden beds, seedlings tables, shaded awnings, creating community spaces, and much more. North Coast has partnered with BCDI to help them expand their programs. This is a great opportunity to be at the forefront of a locally grown, organic food movement that provides for food-insecure members of our community.
