Crafting Support – Agua Hedionda Discovery Center

The Discovery Center hosts a ¾ mile walking trail and a large native-species garden exhibit.  Both require consistent maintenance. Volunteer activities can include monitoring restored sites, removing invasive plant species, repairing minor erosion problems, trimming overgrown vegetation and other general maintenance.  Your volunteer efforts will support a safe outdoor learning environment for field trips and help protect our native plant species.

Day/Time: 2nd Saturday/Month, 9-11am

Description/Volunteer Duties:  They are always looking for extra help to assemble education supplies that are made the for the education programs. Volunteers could help with assembling field notebooks, cutting papers, cutting cardboard, or even assist with any seasonal projects as they get closer to any their annual fundraisers.  The work will take place inside the Discovery Center at a desk or long table.

Volunteers:  Children 10yr+ preferred please.  Volunteers 10-16 yrs must be accompanied by an adult chaperone and sign a waiver.  Children 16+ need a parental permission slips but may be left on their own.

Waivers:  All volunteers will need to fill out a waiver beforehand.  Please fill it out online here!

Tools:  All materials will be provided by The Discovery Center.
