Agua Hedionda - Clean Up and Gardening (Shift 2)

Please note: this project is now FULL and occurs April 24, 1-4pm.

About: The Agua Hedionda Lagoon is a 400-acre lagoon that is one of the threatened coastal wetlands on the Southern California coastline. The Lagoon watershed is a sensitive and vital ecosystem and is home to many fish, marine life and waterfowl. The Lagoon’s goal is to inspire people through education and outreach to preserve the Lagoon as an accessible and healthy watershed.

Project Details: This project includes clean-up, gardening, and weeding. In addition, there are two construction projects (building boxes and a freezer cover).

Bring: Work gloves/rubber gloves, hats, mask, water, snacks, sunblock. Also, bring hammers, levels, shovels, rakes, and garden hoes if you have them.

Wear: Masks and appropriate clothing for the project. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are encouraged. If you have Serve Your City shirt, please wear it! They can be purchased at all North Coast campuses during weekend services.

Child friendly? Yes. Children need to be supervised by an adult at all times. Please include number of children coming in registration.

No prior experience needed to serve, but we’re also looking for skilled professionals. Do you have experience in a skilled trade (i.e. carpentry, handyman, etc.)? Let us know!
