Our Annual Backpack Drive benefits many of our Community Partners by equipping them with backpacks and school supplies. The Drive takes place a few weeks before school starts so that we can distribute the packs to less fortunate children in North County. The packs will ensure they get a good start to the school year and it makes them feel special.
Project Description:
About 20 volunteers are needed to collect and/or sort backpacks and supplies. It will be a one-day drive-up and drop off event. Volunteers may be pulling backpacks out of cars, moving them to the Edge, and/or sorting them into appropriate piles. Some heavy lifting may be required. All volunteers are asked to wear a mask and will be spaced out in order to comply with Covid guidelines.
Volunteers:
Meet at the front of the church at the main entrance, by the big yellow school bus. Wear comfortable clothes, shoes and a mask. Greet people with a smile and accept their donations as they drive up. There will be three shifts throughout the day. This is the first shift. Bring water.
