North Coast hosts the annual Backpack Drive in order to collect backpacks stuffed FULL of school supplies for local homeless children and at-risk youth. The goal is to set up these children for success by providing them with the proper school supplies. As simple as it seems, a new backpack has a profound effect on kids who have very little. The Drive takes place a few weeks before school starts so that we can distribute the packs to less fortunate children in North County.
Project Description:
Volunteers are needed to collect and/or sort backpacks and supplies as they come in. Some heavy lifting may be required and it’s advised that you wear comfortable clothes. You may attend service after your volunteer time.
Location: Find us at the Vista Campus, front and center at the main entrance. Look for the yellow school bus and pop-up tent.
More Fun and More Help Needed! We are looking for volunteers to help with sorting and distribution of the packs as well, so if you’re interested, please check out the following links.
