Why do we Collect Backpacks?
Our Annual Backpack Drive benefits many of our Community Partners by equipping them with backpacks and school supplies. The drive takes place a few weeks before school starts so that we can distribute the packs to less fortunate children in North County. These packs will ensure they get a good start to the school year and it makes them feel special.
Volunteers Needed for Collecting Backpacks:
Two to three volunteers are needed to collect donations in the Plaza at each service. Volunteers simply greet people with a smile and thank them for their donations. If there is time, organizing backpacks and school supplies can also be done.
Please arrive at the Plaza booth 20 -25 minutes before the service time. Greet people with a smile and accept their donations. You’re welcome to attend the service, but please return afterwards for an additional 20 minutes in case additional packs come in. This opportunity is great for kids!
