Blessings Kit Project:  A beautiful way to serve our local seniors is through the gift of a Blessing Kit, a little care package filled with fun treats and a surprise to brighten their day.

Packaging:  There are currently 90 residents.  No need to wrap or package items, simply place items in an inexpensive “dollar store” tub or reusable grocery bag.  This way the staff and nurses can determine what is appropriate for each the residents.  Special homemade encouraging cards are greatly appreciated.  These help them through periods of isolation as they are still experiencing lockdowns due to Covid. Here are some of the most requested items:

• Art/craft/puzzle supplies: large print word search booklets, large print cross word booklets, pens/markers/pencils,
  craft paper, watercolor supplies, colored pencils, senior friendly craft projects.
• Holiday-themed bag:  Choose an upcoming holiday and include a sweet treat, a small room decoration or an easy craft they can complete.  Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Halloween, etc., are all great occasions.
• Book/DVD kit: Nature or travel picture books, DVD movies (family-type & comedies are the most popular).  Nature, animal and travel documentaries are also appreciated.   Include a large print book or bible.
• Spa/Toiletry kit: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, body wash, hand lotion, slippers or socks with sticky bottoms (mens/womens).

*Please do not include hand sanitzers or manicure supplies as the residents are not permitted to have these.

Family Friendly:  Absolutely!  This is a great project to involved children.

Groups or Individuals:  Great for both groups and individuals.

Drop off: Vista Gardens Memory Care, Front desk of the facility, Attn:  Erin Clements.  At this time all deliveries are at the front door.  The receptionist will meet you outside to receive the supplies.  Drop off any time between 8-4pm on Monday-Friday.
