About: North Coast has partnered with several caring and compassionate resident communities that provide services for aging seniors. We want to love and honor this special and unique community by providing a little gift that will uplift their spirits.
Blessings Bags: Make 1-25, or any amount that fits within your budget. Place in an inexpensive “dollar store” basket. Feel free to get creative and include a special homemade card. Here are some ideas:
- Art/craft supplies: craft paper, watercolor supplies, colored pencils, adult coloring books, senior friendly craft projects.
- Holiday-themed bag: Choose an upcoming holiday and include a sweet treat, a small room decoration or an easy craft they can complete. Valentine, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day are all great occasions.
- Book/DVD kit: Word search, puzzle books, deck of cards, large print nature or travel books or bible. Nature or travel books are popular as are DVD movies (family-type, comedies, nature/animal, travel, documentaries).
- Treat bags: chocolates, granola bars, store bought cookies, pre-popped popcorn, bag of mints, Nilla crackers, Cracker Jacks
- Spa/Toiletry kit: toothpaste, toothbrush, shampoo, chap stick, nail files, hair brush, hair ties, body wash, body spray, hand lotion, cloth face mask, slippers or socks with sticky bottoms (kits needed for both men & women).
- Stress Balls: As long as they are solid and don’t have liquid inside.
- Snacks: Potato chips, Cheetos Puff (Anything that dissolves quickly when eaten). No corn chips or nuts.
- Chocolate: Milky Way, Reese’s, 3-Musketeers, Whoppers, Hershey’s (nothing with nuts as it’s a choking hazard).
*Please do not include hand sanitzers or manicure supplies as the residents are not permitted to have these. Currently, they have a LOT of word search and puzzle books, so please refrain from including these.
Pack into: A dollar store basket, sturdy reusable grocery bag or a basket.
Child Friendly? Yes, get the entire family involved.
