Project: This is an opportunity to come alongside your community and help them feel fresh, clean and confident! This may seem like a small thing, but will make a HUGE impact to those that are struggling. Laundry is something that many of us take for granted and is not always available to everyone in our community (cost of laundromat, detergent, etc.).
Details: This project involves putting together a Laundry Kit for those who do not have the supplies/resources to get their laundry done on their own. Suggestions for each kit are below:
-Two rolls of quarters
-10 laundry detergent pods
-Bottle of water
-Snack bar
*Pack into a zip lock bag or paper bag
How Many Kits? Make any amount that fits within your budget, 1-25+
Location: Find a laundry mat in your area that might be in a low-socio economic area and scope out a busy time when individuals or families are present doing their laundry. You may engage them and simply tell them you have a gift and have a “blessed day.”
Timing: Typically, laundromats are most crowded on weekends since most people work Monday to Friday. Weekday traffic tends to be busier after the workday ends around 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. and until about 8:00 p.m. Lunchtime (12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.) might be a busy time as well. Choose a time that is most opportune to find people in need.
