Everyone's a Reader - Read With Kids at Maryland Elementary to Improve Literacy

Maryland Elementary is a public school in Vista school that provides education for kids from kindergarten to 5th grade.   Leaning how to read and learning to read well is a gift that can never be taken away.  Volunteers are needed to read with students to encourage them and help them become proficient in reading.

Location:  Maryland Elementary School, Vista

Dates/Times:  Mondays 2:15-3:15, T/W/Th: 3:30-4:30
*Reading starts September 7th and goes until November 18th and is currently done virtually until the schools will allow in-person reading again.

Commitment:  Volunteers are asked to commit to one hour per week.  Ideally, they’d like to pair up tutors and students so that you may see the same student every week.  There is an opportunity for tutoring during the day so please ask if this interest you.   Volunteers will be asked to complete an online safe-ministry training.

Training/Tools:  No special experience is necessary.  Volunteers will be trained on how to read with the children and provided all the necessary materials.  Simply bring yourself.
