Garden Beautification – Oceana Garden Club
Oceana Garden Club is a community garden for residents of the 55 + Oceana neighborhood in Oceanside, which consists of 31 individual plots and a surrounding orchard. The community gardeners greatly appreciate help with some of the physically demanding work to maintain the grounds. Some tasks are seasonal, while others are ongoing.
Project details: Help with cleanup, gardening and beautification of the garden. The work may include: weeding, trench digging, trimming bushes, hauling mulch and other miscellaneous tasks.
Volunteers Needed: This project is “flexible” and can accommodate as few as 2-3 individual or up to 15 volunteers at one time.
Date/Time: Saturdays, 7:30 am – 11:30 am. Alternate rain dates will be scheduled if needed.
Location: 3630 Vista Bella, Oceanside, 92057
Bring: insect repellent, sunscreen, water.
Wear: hat, closed toe shoes. long sleeves, long pants, and bring garden gloves if you have them.
Tools and equipment are provided. In case of a very large group, it’s helpful to bring any shovels, rakes and weeding tools you might have.
Family friendly with age restrictions: Children 12 and older are welcome with advance notice, and must be accompanied by parent/guardian and waiver signed by parent/legal guardian before entering the property. Older minors may be accompanied by a NCC team leader/school/club leader with advance written parental approval. Please notify the Garden Team Leaders in advance if you plan to bring children. Sorry, but the garden is not suited for children under 12 years. There are too many high weeds, insects, sharp tools, etc.
