Garden Beautification – Oceana Garden Club
Oceana Garden Club is a community garden for residents of the 55 + Oceana neighborhood in Oceanside, which consists of 31 individual plots and a surrounding orchard. The community gardeners greatly appreciate help with some of the physically demanding work to maintain the grounds. Some tasks are seasonal, while others are ongoing.
Project details: Help with cleanup, gardening and beautification of the garden. The work may include: weeding, trench digging, trimming bushes, hauling mulch and other miscellaneous tasks.
Volunteers Needed: This project is “flexible” and can accommodate as few as 2-3 individual or up to 15 volunteers at one time.
Date/Time: Sundays, Noon-4pm. Alternate rain dates will be scheduled as needed.
Location: 3630 Vista Bella, Oceanside, 92057
Bring: insect repellent, sunscreen, water.
Wear: hat, closed toe shoes. long sleeves, long pants, and bring garden gloves if you have them.
Tools and equipment are provided. In case of a very large group, it’s helpful to bring any shovels, rakes and weeding tools you might have.
Family friendly with age restriction. Discuss with Garden Team Leader in advance. Children 12 and over are welcome with advance notice, and must be accompanied by parent/guardian and waiver signed by parent/legal guardian before entering the property. Older minors may be accompanied by a NCC team leader/school/club leader with advance written parental approval.
