About: Green Oak Ranch is a 140-acre camp and retreat site and drug and alcohol recovery center. They are a 501c (3) who helps transform local lives by hosting retreats and providing a 9-month, Christ-centered residential recovery program.
Project Details: This project involves gardening in a variety of areas around the Ranch. You will be assigned to one of these gardening projects upon check-in.
- Updating irrigation and adding plants to the front of the Dining Hall. This is one of those “first impression” places on the Ranch and a place that all residents and campers frequent. It involves some skill.
- Adding irrigation and plants in front of the main office building.
- Weeding and raking of critical areas on the Ranch. This work must be done every spring around their 24 cabins.
Bring: Work gloves/rubber gloves, hats, mask, water, snacks, sunblock. Weed Wackers are needed!
Wear: Masks and appropriate clothing for the project. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are encouraged. If you have Serve Your City shirt, please wear it! They can be purchased at all North Coast campuses during weekend services.
Meet: After you enter the property, volunteers will be directed to the main dining hall, which will be on your right about 200 yards from the main gate. There will be a greeter and a check in table. From here, volunteers will be dispersed to their project site.
Child Friendly? Yes for children 12 years and older. Children need to be supervised by an adult at all times. Please include number of children coming in registration.
