About: Green Oak Ranch is a 140-acre camp and retreat site and drug and alcohol recovery center. They are a 501c (3) who helps transform local lives by hosting retreats and providing a 9-month, Christ-centered residential recovery program.
Project Details: This project involves painting in a variety of areas around the Ranch. You will be assigned to one of these painting projects upon check-in.
- Building and painting new fences. Weather forces the fences to be painted every year.
- Repainting and repairing existing fences. Weather forces the fences to be painted every year. Some of the fence posts need to be straightened or replaced.
- Painting the outside of the largest meeting hall called, Old Town Hall.
- Painting the inside and outside of the leadership cabins used by the group leaders of camps held at the Ranch. The exterior is in desperate need of paint and the interior needs a nice refresh.
Bring: Work gloves/rubber gloves, hats, mask, water, snacks, sunblock. As the serve date approaches, Project Leader will let you know if you need to bring any other tools and supplies.
Wear: Masks and appropriate clothing for the project. Long pants and closed-toed shoes are encouraged. If you have Serve Your City shirt, please wear it! They can be purchased at all North Coast campuses during weekend services.
Meet: After you enter the property, volunteers will be directed to the main dining hall, which will be on your right about 200 yards from the main gate. There will be a greeter and a check in table. From here, volunteers will be dispersed to their project site.
