Preserve Calavera is an organization that leads environmental stewardship project in the Rancho La Costa Preserve. They conduct native habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, native garden maintenance, general beautification and native seed collecting and sowing.
Project: Volunteer to help care for a native plant garden and prep a new site for future restoration. Volunteers will help with watering and invasive plant weeding as well as whatever else is needed. ****This project is conducted rain or shine!****
Date: 2nd Saturday of the Month
Location: End of the cul-de-sac near the address, 7506 Gibraltar Street in Carlsbad, CA.
Bring: Work gloves or gardening gloves, hats, sunscreen, snacks & water.
Wear: Full length pants and shirts, closed toed shoes or work boots.
Waiver: Volunteers must register in advance via the website and will be emailed a waiver and “Covid guidelines” which needs to be submitted prior to the project date.
Child Friendly: Yes! This project is family friendly and children are included in the head-count. However, children under 18 need to be supervised by an adult and will need a liability waiver signed either on the day of the event with guardian present or (if no guardian is present the day of) printed, signed, and brought to the event.
