Preserve Calavera is a north county conservation organization that leads environmental stewardship projects in several local preserves.  They conduct native habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, native garden maintenance,  and native seed collecting and sowing.  Regular monthly volunteer events are held at the La Costa Preserve in Carlsbad and on El Corazon in Oceanside.  For those interested in continued volunteership, they have opportunities in water quality monitoring and leading volunteer groups as well.  If you love working in the garden, this is the perfect project for you.
