You can help during the Covid-19 crisis by sewing surgical face masks for doctors and nurses.  North Coast has received requests from nurses, doctors and other organizations asking for them.  They will be delivered to the appropriate personnel by the Community Service Team.

Supplies:  100% cotton works best, but any cotton materials will be acceptable.  Bias tape or elastic is needed.  In the event that you can’t find either, there are tutorials on how to make them with just fabric.  Use fabric you have sitting at home, or check out JoAnn Fabrics for their special sales during this time.  Order online and pick up at the door.

Elastic: Try buying elastic shoelaces, which can be found on Amazon.

Quantity:  Make as many as you can.   Make 1-100+

Style/Colors:  Please keep in mind that both men and women will be using these masks, so a variety of fabric would be great.

Deliveries:  Drop off at the Vista Campus, at the back door of the workroom, aka back door of the front office.  This is where mail deliveries are also left and directly faces the south end of the parking lot.  There is a sign on the door on which you’ll find a number to call.  Call this number and the facilities staff will bring in the package.  2405 N. Hours:  Drop off during normal business hours, M-F, from 8:30-5pm.

Label Packages:  Be sure to mark bags/boxes clearly to ensure they get put in the correct location by Facilities.
