Shrub Club - Habitat Restoration for Escondido Creek Conservancy

Shrub Club is BACK!

Where: Escondido Creek Conservancy

About the Preserve: The Escondido Creek Conservancy serves as an important corridor habitat for traveling wildlife such as southern mule deer. The Conservancy is dedicated to protecting habitat and wildlife for future generations to enjoy by providing safe havens needed for their long-term survival.

Project:  Many unauthorized trails have been constructed putting the habitat at risk of destruction and fragmentation.  Help is needed to de-construct the unauthorized trails so that they can be returned to habitat.  Work involves deconstructing a trail bed, hauling logs, debris and other barricades, and digging. There are opportunities for lighter work as well, such as installing some fencing, using brush to visually block trails, etc.

Location:  TBC. Once a location is confirmed, volunteers will be notified.

Children: Yes! This project is family friendly but children need to be supervised by an adult.

Bring: Work gloves, water, snack, epi-pen if allergic to bees.  If you have tools please bring them (pickaxe, shovel, hand-saw, wire snippers, other garden tools),  If you don’t have tools, they will be provided.

Wear: long pants, sturdy shoes, sun protection
