Become a volunteer driver!  Being a volunteer driver is a great way to serve the senior community in Oceanside.  GO Oceanside Transportation provides Oceanside residents 65+yrs with medical or grocery rides!  They are always looking to add new volunteers to their “Go Oceanside Program” as the more free rides, the better for the community.

How Much Time is Involved?  You are able to drive as much or as little as you like. Hours of operation are Monday – Thursday from 9:00am to 3:30pm and on Fridays from 9:00am to 12:00pm. The process is as simple as looking at the available rides on the ride scheduling program and choosing the rides that fit into your personal schedule.  All ride requests are booked through the senior transportation staff.

Volunteer Requirements:  On-boarding is easy and will be done by contacting the team leader.  Drivers must be 18 years of age or older, have a valid driver’s license and insurance, and have a good DMV record.  All volunteers are required to be fingerprinted and pass a background check prior to driving for the program.  Volunteer drivers utilize their own personal vehicles and are provided mileage reimbursement and secondary liability insurance for providing transportation and destination assistance to members.
