Habitat Restoration - La Costa/ Preserve Calavera (2nd Sat/mo)

Preserve Calavera is a north county conservation group that  leads environmental stewardship projects in the Rancho La Costa Preserve in Carlsbad.  They conduct native habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, native garden maintenance, general beautification and native seed collecting and sowing.

Project:  We will be planting native grass land plants in a restoration area that we have been preparing for this big day for the last three years! .  Volunteers will dig holes, plant and water in the first 50 plants in this new restoration area..  ****This project is conducted rain or shine!****

Date:  Sat Nov 13,2021 9- 10:30 am

Location:  End of the cul-de-sac near the address, 7506 Gibraltar Street in Carlsbad, CA. Parking on nearby residential streets- carpool if you can.

Bring: Work gloves or gardening gloves, hats, sunscreen, snacks & water. .

Wear: Full length pants and shirts, closed toed shoes or work boots.

Waiver:  Volunteers must register in advance via the website and agree to comply with COVid safety procedures (below).and sign liability waiver at the event.

Child Friendly: Yes! This project is family friendly and children are included. Children  under 18 need to be supervised by an adult and will need a liability waiver signed by parent/guardian either on the day of the event with guardian present or (if no guardian is present the day of) printed, signed, and brought to the event. ***Immediately until further notice the following modified procedures must be followed during the COVID-19 pandemic and associated public health guidelines.

– Ask all attendees prior to participation in field work by asking to self screen and not participate if symptoms are present (cough, shortness of breath or trouble breathing, headache, fever, chills, muscle or body aches, fatigue, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, new loss of taste or smell, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, exposure to person who has tested positive for COVID-19 within the previous 2 weeks).
– If unvacciinated, wear facial covering(mask) over nose and mouth at all times during event and maintain minimum six-foot social distancing from all other participants unless members are of same household.
