Rancho La Costa Preserve, Carlsbad, with Preserve Calavera

About:  Preserve Calavera is an organization that leads environmental stewardship project in the Rancho La Costa Preserve.  They conduct native habitat restoration, invasive plant removal, native garden maintenance, general beautification and native seed collecting and sowing.

Project: Volunteers will be weeding and watering this long term native grassland restoration site; this is physical, outdoor work. Children are welcome but need to be supervised by their parent or another adult.  ***This project is conducted rain or shine!***

Date: 12/9/23

Location: Rancho La Costa Preserve In Carlsbad.  Once you have RSVP’d with the number in your group, full address and details will be sent.

Bring: Work gloves or gardening gloves, hats, sunscreen, snacks & water.

Wear: Full length pants and shirts, closed toed shoes or work boots.

Waiver:  Volunteers must register in advance via the website and will be emailed a waiver which needs to be submitted prior to the project date.

Child Friendly: Yes! This project is family friendly but is not specifically designed for children.  Children are included in the head-count and those under 18 need to be supervised by an adult and need a liability waiver signed either on the day of the event or prior if no parent is present.  Waiver can be obtained by contacting Diane Nygaard below.  *Note:  Please make sure to include children in the head-count when you register.  First come, first serve on a reservation basis.
